My friend suggested me to read this book. He told me it was abouit a gorilla who was mentoring a 12 year old girl. Now when he told me this, I was thinking to myself that this book is probably horrible. I was completely wrong. This was probably one of the best books I have ever read. Yes, it is a fiction book but it is one of those books that really makes you stop and take a look around. Ishmael teaches this girl so much about the world and what is going. It makes you think about evolution and how we as a society have evolved. I liked this book so much that I have read it a few times and I suggest it to many of my friends. And if you like Ishmael, Daniel Quinn has several other amazing books that really make you think. I am so glad I didn't trust my first instinct about this book and that I actually took the time to read it.

Wow a gorilla teaching a 12 year old girl? It sounds like a very interesting story! I will have to look for this the next time I'm at the bookstore. I love books that make me think about the world around me, it takes a great author to do that.
