It's A Grind By Eggy on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I am not really much of a coffee drinker, but I use my Proctor-Silex Fresh Grind Coffee Grinder quite frequently. I use it for spices rather than coffee. It does a good job grinding dry herbs and spices like cumin seeds, pepper corns, red pepper flakes. I even grind bay leaves to put in Black Bean Soup.
I use a lot of spices in my cooking - they are cheaper when bought in larger quantities, and retain their taste and other properties when freshly ground. I buy most of my spices at the Indian or Asian Market in large plastic bags or containers.
The Fresh Grind Coffee Grinder has a retractable cord which makes it easy to store. It is designed to work only if the lid is securely in place (this is a nice feature if you have children around). The metal grinding bowl is easy to wipe out with a dry or damp cloth. The grinding bowl is pretty good at not retaining the odor of the spices.
The Fresh Grind Coffee Grinder is very reasonably priced and has a 180 day Limited Warranty.
I am very happy with my Proctor-Silex Fresh Grind Coffee Grinder.

I wouldn't be without my grinders! As you indicated they are superb for grinding spices - nothing beats freshly ground ;) thanks for the info
I never thought of using a coffee grinder for spices. Great Idea!
There is nothing better than fresh ground coffee beans!
