It's A Small Guitar World After All By Cheez on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Guitar World is a magazine aimed at electric guitar players who want to improve their skills, learn about famous guitarists, and read reviews of the newest gear. The magazine normally includes a few tabs, lessons or playing tips and is a pretty decent length.

There is also an included CD with interviews and lesson/tips for playing popular songs. The CD is a great addition, because when learning something new on the guitar, it's great to be able to hear it as well.

One of the things that I dislike about this magazine is its limited scope of music styles. A great majority of it is focused on metal and very little of it is on other music styles. This is good for someone only interested in playing metal music. Even then it's questionable because metal has its roots in other styles of music too.

For a magazine entitled "Guitar World" I would expect a more well-rounded selection of music and techniques featured. The fact that this is not the case makes Guitar World something I would pick up every once in a while, rather than subscribe to.
