Its a Zoo Out There!!

Our family are zoo members, which means for a one time yearly fee you can visit any zoo on their list of over 200. It actually was less to become a member than a one time visit to a zoo for a family of 4. Needless to say we have made good use of it and in October of last year for our anniversary we went to the Knoxville Zoo, located at 350 Knoxville Zoo Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee. It was very easy to find and the parking was the best of any zoo we have ever visited. The staff was very help and friendly. Their exhibits were very well maintained, the black bear exhibit was my favorite! It was close to the entrance and I had to see it one more time before we left. They had wheel chair, stroller and electronic wheelchairs, like the Rascals you have seen on the commercials. They had a very nice full service restaurant and concession stands through out. The bathrooms were very clean which is something I highly appreciated. My husband enjoyed the Meerkatt look out, you could crawl under the exhibit and look out through bubbles. This zoo was probably one of my favorite zoo's to visit overall. They had more animals than most from what I saw and had a lot of hands on activities. We are planning going back soon with our kids this time.
