It's All In The Bag! By vsimeone on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have a theory about life. A girl can never have too many purses or too many shoes! But, I used to buy really cheap purses and they would only last for a month at the most. They would get dirty and were unable to be cleaned or they would fall apart.
A couple of years ago, I started investing in some better quality handbags. Last summer, I purchased a leather Dooney and Bourke purse that is sort of rainbow colored. This purse is the perfect size for everything that I like to carry with me and the material is durable. It's waterproof and any dirt wipes off with a damp cloth! The variety of colors in the pattern mean that it matches (or coordinates with) any outfit that I wear.
Even though I purchased this purse last summer, when I took it out about two weeks ago, it still looks brand new! I'm sure a fashion diva may frown upon that fact that it is "last year's" style but for me, this purse has been the perfect summer bag.
Dooney and Bourke unknown Purchased at: Marshall's Price: $129.00

I just purchased a 100% leather purse yesterday with the same thought - I would get what I pay for. I hope mine has the long life yours has. Just too bad I read this AFTER my purchase...
These sound like cute bags. I would love to see pictures of it.
Dooney & Bourke make fabulous handbags & wallets!
I love D&B! I had no idea Marshal's carried them. I'll have a looksy next time I'm there. Thanks for the info.
I'm a great believer in "if you like a bag who cares if it's the IN style." Glad you are so happy with this.
It just goes to show you get what you pay for, I don't buy expensive purses because I tire of them before having them too long. I do agree that the more epensive ones do last longer.
You can sometimes find great deals at Marshalls and sounds like you got one of them. I've never owned a D&B, but I've always heard they were quality bags that last a long time.
I've owned my D&B for over a year & it still looks great!
