J.A. Henckels Knife Set, Gets The Job Done By 999frights on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Before purchasing this set, I had a cheap set of knives. Actually, we had one paring knife that was very good quality and used that for all of our chopping. We decided we needed to get a decent knife set, but did not want to spend $200.

Henckels has different levels of quality and this set is the lowest level - it is from Henckels International. I still like this set a lot. We've never had any problems with it. It came with a sharpening tool, but we never have used it, even though we have had this set for a few years. I mainly use the steak knives. We've rarely used any of the others. Even when chopping, I use the steak knives. We always put these knives in the dishwasher and have never had any problems.

I feel like I paid for what I got. It isn't top of the line, but it is a decent set of knives that has worked great for us. I also like the handle and the way it feels when I am holding it in my hand.
