Jack Daniel Distellery
By karlawmcdonald onWe went back to Lynchburg today to the Jack Daniel Distillery, they offer free tours daily free of charge to the public. The distillery is about an hours drive from Nashville, and about an hour from my home in Lawrenceburg.
The tour starts out with a quick presentation on Jasper " Jack" Daniel, then a short tour bus ride, that ends in a group photo that is uploaded to their website. (www.jackdaniels.com) Then you go on a walking tour that takes you through the entire process, from the wood used in making their own barrels, to the charcoal used, down to the fermenting and bottling.
You will enjoy all of the scents and sights of this all original distillery, at the very end you will be treated to free lemon aide or iced tea as you browse the gift shop and enjoy seeing Jack Daniel memorabilia.
You see the entire process, start to finish, it takes approximately 1 hour. This tour is a lot of walking and a lot of stairs, so keep that in mind when considering this tour. They have handicap parking, but I do not think it would be wise to try this if you have trouble walking.
It is very entertaining and was my second trip here, I am sure in a few more years we will go back.
