Jak II - DVD-Rom review
By Shawn onThe original Jak title was a cute platform with a good injection of humor at every twist and turn. Jak II has that same platforming but now incorporates elements that were first found in Grand Theft Auto. Jak is no longer a silent protagonist and the humor has become noticeably darker. Jak II isnt going to appeal to the same crowd as Jak and Daxter, but it will attract another legion of fans to go with the older ones that played Jak and Daxter.
The game takes place directly after the first inside of a cityscape where youll be taking on quests from various sources, hi-jacking vehicles and just causing a ruckus. Youll also quickly find that you just wont be using your feet anymore. Jak garners access to several weapons, all of which allow you to engage enemies at range instead of always having to get into the thick of things. However, if you do catch yourself in the thick of the action youll be able to tap into Jaks darker side.
Jak II is easily one of the best games to be released for the PlayStation 2 and belongs in any collection.
