Jan Sport Daypack By allisonrachael on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have had the same JanSport backpack for years upon years. They are a very trusted brand name, and there is a reason you see them everywhere -- their backpacks are built to last. Although mine is actually a daypack model, I have used it extensively in other situations, including international travel. Even if you fill it to capacity, it will still qualify as a carry-on. And there is a lot of room to fill: a whopping 2100 cubic inches (or 31 liters). The straps will seem stiff at first, but they loosen up with use. There are plenty of pockets to compartmentalize your belongings (although JanSport has simplified newer models of this backpack and there aren't quite so many pockets anymore). Probably one of the nicest things about JanSport is their comprehensive coverage in case of damage. You can go to their website to learn more about this; basically they take great care to look out for their customers, and it shows. Good basic backpack to last you many years.
