Jared Wedding Band
By LJohnson onFor our first anniversary, my husband and I decided that we needed to upgrade my wedding ring.We found a loose center diamond at another store and we wanted to match that into a wedding band, so we went to Jared - the Galleria of Jewelry.
They had a good selection of bands without center stones, so we were able to find one perfect for the center stone we purchased. The center diamond is a 1.5tw princess cut diamond, so we were looking for a band that accommodated a square (princess cut) stone and had some princess cut diamonds in it as well.
The band that we selected is a platinum band, and it is quite thick - probably about 1/4" in thickness. There are princess cut diamonds on each "shoulder" - four on each side. The band is 1.25tw and looks beautiful with the center diamond, especially after it has been polished and cleaned.
You would think that platinum would be a strong metal and good quality, however in the past year I have had to send my ring in twice (during its regular twice-annual checkup) to get the channels reset and the center stone reset. We do have the extended warranty, so this is all covered, otherwise I would be extremely upset and dissatisfied with the ring. However, I would recommend to anyone buying a ring to consider going with white gold instead of platinum!

It really stinks that you have had to have your ring serviced so often, so soon! Thankfully it is all covered... but what a pain to have to have it done at all!
Looks like a very beautiful ring. I've never had anything made with platinum, I'm a gold person all the way. Sorry you've had some problems though , glad you have the extended warranty!!
I agree with Alice-it really is a good thing that you bought an extended warranty. Your band is beautiful!
