Jarhead Dvd Review By Shawn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Jarhead isn't your typical war film, especially when compared to much of what has been released in the past decade. In those films, much of the war aspect came from the physical representation of the battlefield and the viciousness it unleashes upon a human. The mental anguish that comes from leaving home and having to adjust from a world away from home is rarely shown. Jarhead displays this masterfully and still shows the raw power of what in its physical nature as well.

Chock full of special features, Jarhead's DVD provides both a great movie and great features to go right along with it. It's also one of the few films that certainly merit being watched twice to make sure you fully understand what has just been shown to you. The nuances in the life of a soldier and how it affects them beyond any physical manner cannot be understated.

Great acting, great features—what else could be asked for in a DVD?
