Joe Rocket Phoenix 3.0 Mesh Jacket By Dixie Daniels on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Phoenix 3.0 mesh jacket is the third generation of Joe Rocket Phoenix mesh. It features a free-air (TM) poly/mesh shell, removable dry-tech liner, high density padding in the shoulders and elbows, elastic sleeve adjusters, and perforated dual density body armor in the back. It has two pockets on the outside, and one inner pocket. It zips up the front, and has two elastic straps on the bottom, on either side, to secure the jacket tighter around your hips.

This jacket is great for hot weather, and the liner makes it a viable windy/rainy/cool weather jacket as well. Since the jacket is mesh though, rather than textile or leather, it provide less-tha-stellar protection in case of a fall. The only problem I have with this jacket is the annoying snap adjusters on the elbow, which are placed in such a way as to cut off circulation if you try to tighten it to your arm too much. The 4.0 Phoenix mesh jacket has fixed this issue.

I am glad to hear that they have fixed an obvious issue for the older version. Jackets are so important when riding a bike and I would love to check this one out for myself, thank you!

Thanks for this information, too bad the adjusters on the elbow aren't designed better.
