Johnson's Buddies Kids Bath And Body Bar Soap By dsnygrl on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
When my son was getting ready to turn 4, he suddenly became very independent and wanted to do everything himself, including washing himself in the shower. First we tried giving him liquid body wash and squirting it on to wash cloths but he always put the cloth under the water and washed the soap out before he cleaned himself. With liquid body wash being priced kinda high and his washing more of it down the drain than he was actually using, we decided to try something else. Next we tried regular bar soaps but those were hard for him to hold on to and left a slimy mess in the shower. That's when a coupon in the paper led me to try Johnson's Buddies Easy-Grip Sudzing Bar and we have been hooked ever since.
This bar soap is made just for babies and kids. It works great and has a wonderful watermelon type smell. It is a small bar of soap that is wrapped in a special soft pouch. The pouch makes the bar easy to hold on to and last longer than a regular bar of soap with no slime. It's great for parents who are trying to hold a squirming wet baby in one hand and a bar of soap in the other and fits perfectly in the hands of toddlers and children. The soap is a mild gentle formula that is safe for sensitive baby and kid skin. They are also a bargain for the price because the bars have lasted us as long as 3 months.
CVS drug stores run specials on these often and they can be purchased for as little as $.99. There are also coupons in the Sunday paper for them which make them really inexpensive if not free. Having the perfect bar of soap to use not only makes my son do a better job at cleaning himself but he also feels grown up and independent knowing he can do it himself. Even though this is made for babies and small children, at 6 1/2 my son still asks me to buy him the Johnson's buddies.

It sounds like a smart buy because I agree, those liquid body washes get wasted. You squirt too much and it ends up dropping on the bottom of the tub and washing away. Great idea and wonderful scent!
What a great idea for independent wet kids!
I'm going to look for this for my grandson. It looks/sounds great!
I haven't seen this one! My kid's love Johnson Buddies!
Well this is just a wonderful, practical idea~!
Oh this would have been great for my son. I don't ever recall seeing it back then.
Thanks for sharing this, I will have to get this for my daughters, they always want to wash themselves but can't seem to grip the bar of soap.........lol
We use these in my house too! We love them!
The Johnson's Buddies series is great at teaching independence!
What a great alternative to body wash. My daughter sometimes dumps half the bottle in before I realize it - this product would definitely control that.
