This straightener is rather disappointing. When i first purchased this item it worked fine, but as normal ware and tare went on it started failing on me. The first time it dropped the plates cracked which made it not work as well and also pull my hair a great deal. The high temperature's were fine but keeping it at the maximum of 400 degrees burnt more then my hair. It does not have any kind of automatic shut off which was inconvinent. I am pretty forgetful so i would occasionally keep in on for great periods of time and it would burn my dresser in which i kept it on. The plates also got dirty which i don't know how. My hair is not by any means dirty so it is rather perculiar. In the morning when i would first do my hair it straightened okay and my hair was semi straight. But as the day went on my hair wouls quickly un straighten. The ends were the worst of all. i could never get the ends as straight as i would have wanted. Over all i woud not recommend this for there are far more straighteners out there.
