As everyone knows it can be very difficult to get children to read. I was having the same problem with my daughter until one of her teachers introduced her to the Junie B. Jones book series written by Barbara Park. My daughter instantly fell in love with the character and the stories and my husband and I often find ourselves laughing out loud while my daughter reads to us.

The Junie B. Jones book series follows a young girl named Junie B. Jones (of course). Junie is very precocious and says some very amusing and outlandish things! What I love about this book is that my daughter can barley get through a page without laughing.

The Junie B. Jones series consist of chapter book that usually run 8 chapters and 63 pages. The short length means that my daughter can read these books within two or three days which gives her a great feeling of accomplishment.

The only drawback to the Junie B. Jones book series is that Junie B. Jones does do some things that you would probably not like your own child to do such as some of the things that come out of her mouth. While she is never swears or is inappropriate she can be a little on the rude side. If you child imitates what they see and hear you may want to read through these short books by yourself first. Also because Junie is a young girl her speech is not always grammatically correct.

While these book revolve around a first grader they can easily be enjoyed by children all the way up to ten years old.
