K800i, a great allrounder
By I_am_the_stig onIf you've never seen a k800i cellphone that maybe you should read this. Then again, maybe not. I mean, why spoil the surprise? Personally I've owned a K800i for about a year or so and it still manages to put a smile on my face. Ok, that's not a cellphone's main job but still. In a few words, if you like a big screen, you use 3G networks (and added services such as data transfer, maybe videocalls) and you also want a decent mp3 player equipped with a not-so-ordinary camera, you might want to consider this model. As a music player it's almost perfect and comes with a big plus in form of a fully featured FM radio (with RDS). The camera is also a big plus, pictures generally come out clean and in natural tones. Of course the xenon flash adds up a lot of value if you're shooting in dark places but the real strength of this 3.2Mpixel camera comes from its excellent macro-mode. The big screen is great for photo viewing and if you like, you can also try short videos since this model can decode .mp4 videos with aac sound up to 320x240@25fps. Just remember to keep the bitrate under 400Kbits/s and you'll be fine. Overall this is a nice piece of hardware, maybe a little too bulky for some but i guess that's just a matter of taste. Reception is decent but could be better in weak signal areas. Enjoy!
