My mom gave me a bunch of outdoor stuff for this summer. The best item was the penguin 6 can expandable cooler. It can hold a couple of snacks and sandwiches and up to 6 beverages. The top part is insulated and unzips for your drinks. If you can't fit them all in that space there is a second zipper that when unzipped raises the top beverage compartment a good 4 more inches. The lower compartment opens and has a hard plastic liner on the inside. Not only does this liner protect your food items from becoming squished, but it also acts as an additional layer of cooling insulation. The cooler is PVC free and made with an anti-microbial agent to keep your food safe.
When you look at the cooler it looks like a large lunch tote. It is easy to carry around or toss in your summer lounge bag. There is also a zippered front pocket to hold items like your napkins and utencils as well as two mesh side pockets secured with elastic to hod any aditional items you may want to bring along.
This cooler is easy to use and really keeps our stuff cold for a long time. It has been a great picnic bring along!

This sounds really handy for those times when you don't need a huge cooler and a small one just isn't enough. I'd seen a larger expandable, but this one sounds like a better size.
