Keeping it Cool
By Liv2bhappy onI received this Nexxtech Notebook Cooling Fan for Mother's Day.I currently use it with my 17" HP laptop and it fits perfectly. The system requirements state that it works with Windows/ME/2000/XP but I am using it with Windows Vista and it works just fine.
The nice thing about this cooling fan is that it is USB powered. All you have to do is plug one end into your USB port on your laptop and the other end plugs into the cooling fan itself. It has an on/off switch conveniently located on the left side of the cooling unit. The two fans are extremely quiet.Once in a while, I find myself lifting up my laptop just to make sure the fans are still running.
This cooling fan has been continuously running twenty-four hours a day since Mother's Day because I hardly ever shut down my laptop.I noticed that the built in fans do not run nearly as much as they used to because this cooling fan is doing a great job at cooling down my laptops battery.

I don't understand why a cooling fan has to be plugged in to the USB port. Tell me more.
Thanks for the information, didn't know this about cooling fans.
This is one I'll look for next time I'm near Circuit City. I think the reason my laptop shuts itself off in the middle of the night, is that it gets too hot (?)
