Kelty Kids Elite Carrier

I purchased the Kelty Kids Elite for my husband.He wanted to carry the baby at the zoo and on hikes, but did not want to were a "girly" carrier.
The Kelty Kids Elite weighs in at seven pound.It is for children six months old and up.It is carried as a backpack and has harness supports for the wearer at the chest and at the waste.You can easily go from one wearer to another with the adjustability of the harnesses.
The Elite also has a Kids backpack attached.this is great for bringing along diapers and wipes.The backpack also has a long range of use.You can carry children from the age of six months until they reach 45 pounds.
My daughter loves being in the backpack.It is great for going to community festivals and other family outings.She likes to be able to walk around with daddy and look over his shoulder.
This is a must have for an active family.Due to the high cost of the product I would not recommend it for less active families.
Update On Apr 24, 2008: We bring this backpack with us to the west side market every week.We have gotten so many comments on what a great idea this is and our friends actually went out and bought themselves one for their one year old son.It is a lot less bulky then a stroller and great for older babies that can no longer fit in other carriers.
Update On May 09, 2008: We just took this carrier to the zoo and several families commented on how much easier this looks to manuever around then a stroller which you just can not bring into all of the exhibits.
Update On May 24, 2008: Look for this carrier at garage sales or on Craigslist.My friend just bought one that was practically new for $25.The owner obviously didn't know what they had!

I had a pack, nothing as nice as yours though, that I used to use when I went on hikes. I always loved to walk the breakwaters or in the sand by the beaches where strollers were just useless.
When we did baby we had a backpack. It was really the only way that he was happy to travel anywhere, and even liked to be in it while I fixed dinner so he could watch. Having a quality one like Kelty is important if it will be used often.
Sounds like an excellent way to secure your baby and keep him or her close while you also can enjoy doing other things, great review!!
I don't know what I would of done without a baby carrier! This looks like a great one!
I thinks its fair price for its good kelty quality. Especially when its about our baby, both quality and safety will be more important than just the price.
