I purchased this Sears Kenmore power miser 6 gas hot water heater in May of 2005. In these two plus years that I have owned it I have had no problems with it at all. I had a very old hot water heater before this one and the flame went out on it so I decided it was time to buy a new one. Because I use natural gas to heat my water I did not want to take a chance on any gas related problems. I have had very good luck with Sears Kenmore appliances no matter what I have purchased so I was comfortable with buying this hot water heater from them. I have not had to worry about recovery time between showers in the household despite having 4 living here and have never yet run out of hot water which was a real problem with the old one. They could do better with their warranty however which is for one year. They cover parts up to six years and should do so with the labor part of the equation as well in my opinion. Based on my overall experience with this model I give it a thumbs up and have to say it appears to be a very well made product.

is it just me or are warranties getting lamer and lamer?
I have a Miser 6 and after 21 months it has went out. I tried to relight it and it will not relight. A repairman sent by sears will come on Monday for $65 and then give me a repair estimate including which parts are covered. The labor was covered for 1 year - arrrg.
