Kenmore's over the range microwaves are junk. This is our second microwave in 6 years. The first one was still under warranty when the door went bad, so we received this one under the warranty. Well, it lasted longer than the the first one, but it is still not that great. About a year ago the microwave started flinkering on and off while I was trying to cook something. Sometimes it works and other times it just keeps going on and off when I try to use it. Just a week ago, the handle broke. The Consumer Report says that Kenmore' appliances are good, but out of the four Kenmore appliances that we bought 6 years ago, one has been replaced and we had to fix a very expensive problem with the other one.

Furthermore, these microwaves are not cheap. They cost every bit of $400 - $500 to replace. They should last longer that 5 years! The microwave I had at my old house was every bit of 20 years old and was still working when we moved. Appliances just are not made to last anymore, but the price has not gone down either.
