Kenmore Sewing Machines By Meems on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This sewing machine is extremely easy to use. It sews on denim and quilts with no hesitation.

The owner's manual is clear, concise and written in English, Spanish and French. Every function has a diagram that helps to explain each feature. The presser feet just snap into place and selecting the stitches is done by turning a dial. The settings for the tension and length of the stitch are then displayed in small windows on the front of the machine once you have chosen the stitch you need. Maintenance is minimal. Just keep the bobbin area clean and free of dust and pieces of stray thread. Instructions for oiling the machine are included in the manual.

If I had to find one negative thing about this machine it would be the placement of the thread cutter. It is behindand slightly above the presser foot and I would prefer it to be to the left of the presser foot. But, that could be because I'm left handed.

This sounds like a good basic machine. A friend of mine loves her Kenmore. It has run for decades!

Sounds like a good machine except not made for left-hander. Thanks for sharing those sewing machine info.

It's a shame that this doesn't quite accomodate left handers but this still sounds like a terrific machine!
