I usually have a cabon monoxide detector and a smoke detector in my home but I ran across this combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector in home depot and figured it's much cheaper buying batteries for one product then buying for two. And it has worked out excellent, it's voice alerts and tells me if there is carbon monoxide and smoke in the house . No more of that crazy beeping sound that you get from the other smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
It's very effective and and person like me who knows absolutely nothing about electronics could hook it up because it's battery operated.
I have bought for my parents and my grandparents especially for my grandparents because my grandmother is losing her hearing and it is very good for her.

I'm going shopping this afternoon, I'll have to see if Canadian Tire has one of these. We don't really have any useful place to put a carbon monoxide detector in our apartment, and our smoke detector seems to be fried - so a two in one would be awesome.
with this stuff, no more place to hide for "silent" smokers :)
This is a very interesting product. I like the idea of carbon monoxide detector. I already have smoke detector, but not carbon monoxide detector. Thanks for sharing.
I never found this stuff like this before. I hope it can reduce the smoke. And it good for passives smoker.
I like the idea of the combo, but I'm not sure I like the voice, rather than the beeping. I'm afraid my kids would sleep right through a voice. They need something super loud.
