Kindle 2: What a gift!

My husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law gave me the best gift I could have asked for when I celebrated my birthday last month, a Kindle 2.I had been wanting one for a while, but did not have the available money and had made up my mind that I would get one when I saved up my pennies.

Well, I was so happy to see that I didn't have to wait.It was my husband's idea to get me a Kindle 2(isn't he great), and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law went along with the surprise.

Kindle 2 is really innovative.I love being able to download books immediately and have them available without having to leave the house.The font size can be changed to whatever size is comfortable for reading, and another great feature is the ability of the Kindle 2 to read to you.I enjoy doing my own reading, but if my eyes get tired, the Kindle 2 will do my reading for me.

The keyboard is small, but I have small fingers and have no problem using it.I can go to the previous page or the next page, and a small toggle button enables me to make selections in menus.There is also a built-in dictionary which enables me to look up words while I am reading.

The Kindle Store has a wide selection of books, magazines, newspapers and blogs at my disposal.Everything is at my fingertips, which I find just incredible.

I still like the feel of a book in my hands, but I also like the ease and comfort of using my Kindle 2, and I especially like the ability of getting a book almost immediately.

What a wonderful gift for an avid reader.

Update On Nov 06, 2009: I forgot to mention that I can also hook up earphones to my Kindle 2, so that when I have my Kindle read to me, the voice (either male or female, your choice) will not disturb anyone else.
