The jellybean has a hard shell and gummy interior. The basic ingredients of jelly beans include sugars, corn syrup, and food starch and include amounts of lecithin (an emulsifier), anti-foaming agents, beeswax or carnauba wax, salt, and confectioner's glaze. They were originally marketed as Easter food but are now casual fare.
