Kitchen Aid Artisan 5 Quart Stand Mixer By FrankV on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My daughter has this KitchenAid Mixer. She needed to make a large batch of cookies and I was going to help her. I have always had the hand mixer type in my kitchen and I was anxious to try her new mixer. I must say I was hooked after I saw it. It's a beautiful color of blue and something I would leave out on my countertop instead of hiding it in a cabinet. The first batch of cookies we made were chocolate chip. We doubled the recipe and added all ingredients at once. I love how the mixing bowl locks into place. I put the speed to the lowest setting until the wet and dry ingredients were slightly mixed. Then I put the speed to medium and let it mix by itself. I didn't have to stand and hold the mixer or the bowl. This is a powerful mixer and yet it is very quiet. The clean up was a breeze. You can make dough, cookies, cakes and frostings. The highest setting is super fast. I suggest using that one for a fluffy frosting recipe or egg whites. You can buy additonal attachments for this mixer too. I found it to be very versitle in the kitchen. I really like this mixer and I hope (hint hint) that I get one for my kitchen !
