Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers Are Built To Last By Missy Stgermain on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I got my little mixer back around 2001 its still going strong. I got it believe it or not as a refurb and one woudln't know the difference except a small cosmetic blemish on one of the attatchements. What comes with it is a kneading hook, Beater and a wisk like attatchment for making whipped cream and merianques . The dough hook I don't make much bread however I find the hook to make a great meatloaf kneader as its alot cleaner and more sanitary to mix raw meat like that then by hand . I like the durability of this product it seems to keep going . Its very strong and mixes through some dense mixtures such as cheesecakes, cookie doughs etc. Its kind of pricy which is why i got mine as a refurb it was cheaper for me that way however even at the brand new prices this product is worth its weight in gold . These mixers are like cast iron cookware extremely strong and probably have to be passed down to the next generation someday. I like whipping mashed potatoes and squash with it as well . I think its a overall essential kitchen tool and dont' know how i got along without one for so many years but glad i got one and use is frequently for making meal preparating and baking easy . Specially that meatload deal lot better then getting the hands dirty with raw meat the dough hook makes that alot more enjoyable to make and meatball mixtures etc. I love my kitchen aid mixer it one of my favorite of kitchen gadgets and it looks extremely nice I like gothic stuff so my mixer is the black onyx color .It makes a kitchen look nice as well . I leave mine right out on my counters always i wouldn't want it to not be seen. Overall I rate this highly cause i think its pretty cool.
