Kitchenaid 12 Pc Cutlery Set - Red

I am not a big fan of kitchen knives in general. I do use them almost daily but would prefer to just use a steak knife to cut most things. Although bread is one thing that I find a bread knife is nice for. This set has 12 pcs including a bread knife, paring knife, steak knives, scissors, a sharpener type thing and other knives.

For the most part I only use the bread or steak knife or the scissors. The scissors are absolutely wonderful and will cut through most meats without a problem. I normally trim the fat off with them. The bread knife I also like but the steak knives I do not like the design at all. They do not have a seregated edge and to me that makes a knife cut better, especially when digging into a steak. I do use them but would love this set so much more if they were different.

The handles of the scissors and sharpener are covered in a rubber like grip which makes them a dream for holding and handling. It is something that seems to be more common now a days. I only wish they were all like since the handles are a bit slick if your hands are wet.

I do not put them in the dishwasher so I am not sure how they would hold up. I have a young child at home and don't feel it is safe to put them where he could get at them. I have not had any issues with them wearing down, but have only had them around 2 years.
