Reviewing: Kitchen Aid 6 Qt Stand Mixer
Purchased at: Qvc     Price: $297.00 USD

I saw this mixer on QVC and it was available on easy payments over the course of a few months. I decided to purchase it because I was tired of mixing up cookie dough and having the dough wind all around the beaters. This mixer was shown to be able to mix up triple batches of cookie dough with no issues. The product demonstration was true to its word - I mixed up a triple batch with no problems at all. No stopping to scrape the sides of the bowl, the mixer did not "pop-up" during the mixing and best of all - no dough winding around the beater! This mixer has a flat paddle type beater so there is less to scrape off and it's easier to clean. The wire whip is great for whipping up egg whites. I have a sherbert recipe that I like to make in a triple or quadruple batch. So, I usually need to whip up about eight egg whites to the stiff peak stage. This mixer whips them up in record time. And it's so easy to see when the egg whites are at the correct stage. I don't use the pouring chute very often, but it's handy when you need to add dry ingredients like flour. It keeps the dry powder from flying out all over the kitchen, but it is one more thing to clean. I'm not much of a cook, so this mixer has a little more power and capacity than what I really need for everyday use, but I love it when it comes to the several times a year I want to make cookies and other large recipes. The mixer is heavy so I keep it on my counter all year long. I only gave the warranty a 3.9 because it's only good for one year.I don't expect it to flake out, but it would be nice to have at least a 3 year warranty.
