Kitchenaid Artisan Series Mixer By msjoelboxer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Kitchenaid has a reputation for quality cooking accessories, and this mixer definitely takes the cake. Weighing in at 22.8lbs, it won't dance around on your counter as you're trying to add ingredients, and it also features a tilt-back head to make adding to the work bowl even easier. The powerful 325 watt motor can handle the stickiest dough and whip egg whites to fluffy perfection.

The mixer comes with three attachments: a wire wisk, dough hook, and flat beater. It also features 10 different speeds to accomodate almost any recipe. The deep, 5-quart work bowl can handle up to 9 cups of flour at once and is constructed of beautifully polished stainless steel.

I have the empire red color, but it comes in 19 different shades. I personally think that the red is really sleek looking, but for a more classic look, I'd try the almond cream color.

All around, this is an excellent product. I've had mine for 3 years and my dad has had his for more than 10. Both of us use them on a fairly regular basis and agree that there's no more durable, reliable mixer out there.
