I am the type of person that likes to reuse things, especially water bottles. When I am at work, I fill up a water bottle and keep at my desk in case I get thirsty. A few days ago, two of my co-workers told me that I should only be using a water bottle once becauseafter the first time it starts to grow bacteria and is insanitary. Ok, I knew this but I thought I could reuse it at least 3 or 4 times before I threw it out.

So now that I have grossed myself and probably a few of you others out there out, let me tell you what I have found. This product is called a Klean Kanteen. Yes you heard me right. This Kanteen is made of 100% recycleable, high quality, food grade stainless steel. It doesnt need any special lining like some other metal bottles. It won't leach chemicals, toxins or funky flavors like a regular water bottle does and I can put anything into it whether it is water, soda, juice, or even a fruit smoothie. You can use them for hiking, riding in a car, or just at work like I do.

The mouth part is wide enough that I can put ice cubes in my drink if I want and it is very easy to clean with water and soap. I can even through it in the dishwasher which makes it perfect for me.

I can reuse this day after day, year after year, for as long as I need to. The Kanteen also comes in several different colors and differnt tops. They even have them made especially for young children and babies.

I didn't either until I was told. It's discusting. Make sure you DON'T use a water bottle more than once.

Not to add to the scare tactic, but I would be more scared of the chemicals in plastic. Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical found in the hard plastic called polycarbonate, is linked to precancerous tumors and hormonal changes. To combat bacteria, if a person reuses their water bottles, they just need to clean them thoroughly (just like the dish you ate lunch on...). But I am all for not adding to the petroleum production and support reusing a metal container such as this, especially since you can put any kind of drink in it, including ice cubes!

I reuse my water bottles .. I was told about this being unsanitary but then I also, read an article from a chemist who claimed that the real problem was in the plastic . its even in baby bottles but she claimed when it gets heated up it releases something toxic from the plastic... She still used her dishwasher for the baby bottles though, for she had a greater fear of ecoli and food poisoning... Dont forget alot of people heat baby bottles in the microwave... The way I read the article is this is supposed to by unsafe too... So who knows, its like the egg... first its good for you, then its not, then it is... Do these people really know whats going on , or do they just love to scare the American public... If it is so sanitary, why arent there warnings listed on the labels so that all of us can see this???? Just a thought but this is a nice idea for those of us who catch everything coming and going such as myself....... I may have to invest in one of these and thanks for this information as I have never heard of this before...

Generally we don't reuse water bottles but this one seems to be scientifically proven. Thanks for all the informations and I think as you said it is not made of plastics, the water bottle can be considered hygenic for re-use.
