Reviewing: Klean Kanteen 40 Oz Water Bottle
Purchased at: The Trip Outdoors     Price: $27.95 CAD

After reading a news article on reusable water bottles (like nalgene) and all the harmful chemically that leach from them I took it upon myself to find an affordable, metal water bottle. After searching on the internet I found out that klean canteen have the best water bottles on the market.

The bottle itself it made of stainless steal so zero leaching happens when you use it multiple times. Also because of the stainless steal hot and cold beverages can be used in the bottles and no harmful chemicals will leach out. This is very convenient when you have an early morning class and you want to bring coffee, or you have a long day and you just want cold water. To clean the product all you need is soap and water and it is also dishwasher friendly!

The company itself makes six different water bottle sizes to fit anyones needs. Im not sure what the smallest size is but I know the largest size (the one I have) can hold 40 ounces (1.1 Litres) of water. This is a great size for me because I tend to be away from the house all day and I rarely have to refill it. The top for the bottle can either be plastic or stainless steal which is a convenient choice. The mouth piece of the bottle is very wide so it allows you to put ice cubes in your bottle with ease. This is great if you are gone for a full way and you want to keep your water nice and cold.

Being a health conscious person I find the klean kanteen to be an excellent product. I no longer have to worry about the harmful chemicals that might come from reusing plastic bottles. While the bottle itself may seem a little expensive, I think it the long run it is worth spending that extra money to avoid the harmful consequences of using plastic water bottles.

I keep water bottles for quick fill ups on the walking trails.

Great info, it's hard to find things that aren't harmful to our bodies now-a-days.

It is good to know the opening is large enough to put ice in. I hate when you have to kind of pound them in because they don't really fit! I think the extra dollars you spend are worth the peace of mind you gain by avoiding plastics.

My husband always used stainless steel canteens with the stainless tops. The liquids stored in one of these canteens stayed so much fresher, and for much longer periods of time. I feel bad I let my boys drink from another company's Nalgene bottles when they were younger.

Sounds great! All this news about chemicals in plastic has me freaked! I may invest in something like this.

Too heavy for backpacking, but fine for other kinds of camping and recreation. Nalgene hasn't been shown to be too problematic as long as you don't put hot liquids or other chemicals in it.
