Kong Dog Ball Outlasts Heavy Chewer By JPnMO on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Last summer we adopted a yellow Lab puppy. We've had many dogs in the past, but none were chewers like this one. We bought one toy after another, only to see them destroyed within days, if not hours. We repeatedly bought tennis balls, which she'd chew until she ripped them open and tore the fuzz off, making them a choking hazard. She loved balls, but they were too dangerous for her - until we heard about the Kong toys. These toys are fantastic!!! We purchased a 3 inch rubber ball, assuming it might last a little bit longer than previous balls, but it has held up perfectly for a couple of months. And our dog loves it! It has a lot of bounce, so she gets lots of exercise as she chases it around and no matter how much she has chewed on it, she hasn't made a dent. I hate to think of how much money we wasted on other toys and balls before we found Kong. They are more expensive, but are definitely worth it. If you are looking for a sturdy, high quality ball for your dog to play with, this is it.
It has been 8 months since I wrote my original review and I wanted to give an update. This dog is by far, the most determined chewer I've ever seen. However, the Kong ball is still intact. She plays with it daily and still tries to destroy it, but can't. She loves to carry it around, hanging out of the side of her mouth and nudges me when she wants to play.
We've had this toy for a long time now and our dog plays with it daily. It is still in great condition. If you want to see what other sizes are available, follow the link:

The previous link did not work. Hopefully, this one will. If not, go to Petsmart.com and search for Kong balls.

Kong Dog Ball Purchased at: Petsmart Price: $8.00

My kids have dogs who chew, sounds like this might be a perfect ball for their dogs.
Saw these today while shopping and there was a good choice to pick from. The dog would be lucky to have these.
Kong toys are tough.
We have Kong toys for our mini dachshund, as he is an avid chewer too, when it comes to toys. These really do hold up well.
