Krups Coffee Pot F229 with Thermal Carafe
By Jennifer Claerr onI have found the Krups coffee pot with the thermal carafe to be an overall good coffee pot.The basic idea is that the thermal carafe is supposed to keep the coffee warm without the need for a warming plate. The plate the carafe sits on is straight plastic; it doesn't heat up.
However, my husband and I have minimal coffee needs.Every coffee pot I've ever used has counted each cup as two cups or more, and so when this one says that it brews ten cups, it really only brews five.Generally my husband and I only need around four of those. This leaves the carafe only partially full, so the coffee doesn't stay hot as long. Also, at times the pot doesn't brew properly, leaving a large quantity of water resting in the brewing filter.
It's a functional coffee pot, and we still use it daily. It isn't that difficult to clean, and the water reservoir can be decalcified with plain water and vinegar. However, it is slightly problematic and not the coffee pot of our dreams.
