Kung Pow! Enter The Fist By verbiosa on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Written, directed by and starring comedic genius, Steve Oedekerk, you'll either find this film unbelievably funny ... or unbelievably stupid. Being a big fan of ridiculous comedies, I thought it was hilarious. And as a fan of Hong Kong action, this film lends an especially quirky twist.

We're long-time fans of Oedekerk side projects, namely his thumb movies - Bat Thumb, Thumbtanic, etc. where he remakes popular movies using ... erm, well, thumbs as actors. Oedekerk has written, directed and produced many notable movies and television shows, like Bruce Almighty, and Santa vs. the Snowman. Oedekerk owned the rights to 70's Kung Fu movie, Tiger and Crane Fist, and decided to pull a Tigerlily. The result is the fairly odd, sometimes uncomfortable, but totally outrageous tale of The Chosen One.

What he's chosen for, and why his weapon of choice is alive, I'll let you figure out for yourself.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist is rated PG-13. There's violence, but also plenty of crude humor. I've learned also there is a movie in the works to be released next year, Kung Pow 2: Tongue of Fury.
