Kung Pow: Enter The Fist Dvd By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Man, this DVD rocks in so many ways.

The Chosen One is on a quest. A quest to kill the man who destroyed his family. And with the help of his newfound friends Master Tang, Ling, and Whoa, he just may be able to do it.

If you're expecting a serious movie here, don't. This movie is actually bits and pieces of an old kung fu flick coupled with new scenes and star Steve Oedekerk superimposed into various scenes. The result is a hilarious spoof of all things kung fu.

Where this DVD release shines is in it's bonus features. There are a lot, and I mean a lot of them. First, we have a full length audio commentary by Oedekerk himself, as well as alternate audio featuring both the "original" movie and the entire movie "on tape." There are 14 hilarious deleted scenes, 6 alternate takes, a look behind the visual effects, cow animatic, a "Making of" featurette, theatrical trailer, a number of promo spots, surround sound...the fact is, this movie has a staggering amount of special features, and the vast majority of them are extremely enjoyable. How they managed to cram so much stuff on one disc is beyond me, but it's definitely worth double or even triple the price tag you find it at nowadays. It's quite clear that Steve Oedekerk cares about the fans with this release.

The sad thing is, the movie wasn't particularly successful, meaning you can find it in the bargain bin pretty much anywhere. Obviously that means this movie was meant to be purchased and enjoyed by everyone in the world, so what are you waiting for? Go pick up your copy now!
