Kurt Cobain: Journals By WreathofBarbs on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Kurt Cobain: Journals is exactly what it sounds like. A collection of the late Nirvana frontman's dozens of journals he filled during life. There's a story that goes that when Eels frontman Mr. E was asked to write the forward for the book, he replied, "Please don't do this to me when I kill myself." On the other hand, many who knew Kurt argue that he let everyone around him read his journals. The choice of reading this book is a moral one, up to the reader. Those who delve inwards will find an intimate look at a troubled, sensitive artist. Ranging from "My favorite album" lists to letters and morbid or meaningful artwork, the book covers plenty of Kurt's life. From the early days of Nirvana up until his apparent suicide. A great read for any Nirvana fan. I'm not sure if there's any guilt hanging over me for reading it, but I really do think it's a great insight into the mind of, what I believe, is a great artist.
