LA Candy - Lauren Conrad

I was looking for a book to take on holiday with me. I struggle to find books that I enjoy after finishing thelast of the Harry Potter series on my last holiday. So I searched around on Amazon and came across a book on sale by Lauren Conrad. I have watched Lauren on the TV series The Hills and thought I might as well give it a go.

When it comes to books I perfer a book that is not too confusing, as on holiday I am always putting the book down and picking it up again throughout the day. LA Candy is a great book and I was not disappointed, by the third chapter I was hooked and could not put the book down.

The book is about Jane Roberts and her best friend Scarlett Harp who move to LA and get approached to go to an audition for a new reality tv show. Much to their shock they get the parts and their life styles take a drastic change as they are follwed by camera crews everyewhere they go.Unfortunately they soon realise that fame comes at a price.

As a first book I think that the author Lauren Conrad has done really well as she has lived the LA life. The book is intended for a younger audience and has a basic writing style to it, although I would say that this book does have a small amount of adult content in it.

I enjoyed this book , but it does have a large cliff hanger at the end so you need to rush out to purchase the next installment in the series as soon as you have finished it.
