La Jolla Cove California By Mom2One on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

While staying in the San Diego area, we took a drive to La Jolla Cove and spent the whole afternoon and into the evening there.

This is my favorite beach of all the beaches we saw in Southern California. The scenery is breathtaking. There are many kinds of wildlife in this area. We saw crabs, pelicans and seals.

My son enjoyed looking at all the seashells that were along the shore.

My favorite part was the walking out on a long pier and it is over the area of seals. The seals like to hang out in this area so there were plenty to see. A word of warning they can get noisy though but it is so neat to see so many seals in one place and in their natural habitat.

Originally, we had planned to just spend a couple of hours here. We had so much fun exploring and taking in the beauty that we ended up staying and watching the sunset. It was a breathtaking sight! Picture perfect.

Although I was with family, my husband and I said we would love to go back to La Jolla Cove just the two of us. This would make a wonderful romantic getaway spot.
