Labyrinth By Tifffany on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Labyrinth was filmed in 1986 and was directed by Jim Henson. This is quite apparent as the many creatures in the film resemble muppets. The movie tells the story of a girl named Sarah(Jennifer Conelly) who is tired of caring for her younger brother Toby. So, she wishes that the goblin king will come and take him away from her. When this comes true, Sarah must venture into an intricate labrinth in order to find Jareth, the Goblin king (played by David Bowie) before the clock strikes 13. The story is in the fantasy realm but is not at all scary. All of the music in the film is done by Bowie, including some songs where he sings (Magic Dance).

I find this to be a very enjoyable movie and safe for children to watch. The music is top notch and the cast of characters includes many furry and funny muppet-type creatures. The acting is also really great, and the plot itself is endearingly about family, friendship, and perseverence.
