Ladderball Family Fun By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We recently purchased Ladderball after playing it at my aunt's house.
This is a great family game for all ages. The younger kids in the family can easily play it with the grandparents in the family.
The game includes 2 goal uprights, 3 white bolas, 3 blue bolas and a carrying bag.
This game is not complicated and it is very easy to learn. The object is to throw your bolas one at a time towards the opposite goal upright. You want to try to have your bola land on one of the rungs.
There are 3 rungs and each rung is worth a point, 1, 2 or 3 points.
The object is to reach 21 points exactly before your opponent.
You can also try to knock off your opponent's bolas which will cause them to lose those points.
You may play this as a two person game or in two different teams.
This really is a great lawn family game. When my whole family is together it is a lot of fun and we have a lot of laughs.
I will admit sometimes it can be tricky getting the bola on the rungs, but that is what makes it fun.
Here is my only con, although the set up is easy you do have to take it all down and put it back up again if you are going to transport it.
It really isn't a huge deal, but it would be nice if there was a way it just folded down in one piece.
For the most part we just leave it put together and store it in our garage and just carry it outside when we want to play it.
When we are taking it somewhere, like a family get together, we just tear it apart and put it back together when we arrive at our destination.
I think every family should have a Ladderball. They are getting very popular up here it seems. There are many different brands and all range in different prices, so shop around. The reason we got a more expensive one is a lot of stores were sold out of the cheaper models.

This is a new one on me-I've never heard of Ladderball before but it sounds like loads of fun!
I have never hear of it, wish you had a picture, thanks for the info
I have seen families playing this at campgrounds. It packs down and transports easily in a camper. Families with all ages of kids and even grandparents were having fun together.
I haven't ever heard of this game before. It sounds very interesting. We used to go camping a lot. Sounds like something we could have easily had a lot of fun with. Thanks for sharing.
I puchased this set and two of the bolos came apart during the first round of play. I exchanged it for another identical set, and the same thing happened. When I called customer service, I was told they didn't offer replacement parts, and that I would have to buy more bolos! The game is blast--but what a rip-off! My advice: save yourself sixty bucks and build your own set for a fraction of the cost.
Never heard of this but it sounds like a great game now that summer is here!
Looks like a very good game for family bondings. Thanks for sharing the interesting info with us.
I've not heard of this but it sounds like it would be a pretty decent activity for many ages to take part in. Thanks for the info
