Lake Superior Zoo; Duluth, Minnesota By TKDDad on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

My wife and I decided to check out this Zoo while in Duluth, Minnesota.

This is a very small and quiet zoo. When we went there was not many other people. That was nice as sometimes it felt like it was just us walking around.

I feel they have a decent selection of animals for its size. We enjoyed seeing the kangaroos. They also have a nocturnal area which is neat to walk through.

I enjoyed the harbor seal and polar bear area. When we were there the 2 polar bears were pretty active in their area. Sadly I recently heard on the news that one of the polar bears died suddenly so there is currently only one polar bear at the zoo now.

Even though we did not have a child with us my wife and I went to the Zoo Lab and had fun learning about different animals and even petting a snake.

The zoo does cost to get into. I believe it was around $8.00 for an adult ticket. There is a train ride in the zoo but we did not take it.

I felt the animals were pretty well taken care of. There was a couple areas that I felt were too small for the animals and their area needed to be clean, but most of the zoo seemed clean.
