Lancome Lipstick

Recently, I received a Lancome Color Design lipstick as a gift with purchase of other Lancome products. I have used Lancome lipstick before, but not this particular formula. The lipstick is available in approx. 36 colors and in 4 different formulas - creams, sheens, shimmers and metallics. This lipstick is Camisole Shimmer, which is a nice pinkish lavender color.
I'm usually pretty picky about lipstick and go for those that are moisturizing, long lasting and have a nice scent. Lancome's Color Design wasn't quite what I expected from a high-end lipstick. The color was long lasting, but it didn't feel smooth and there's no fragrance or taste.I've tried other Lancome lipsticks with no problems, so it could just be the "shimmer" formula.
Lancome Color Design lipstick is available at department stores such as Nordstrom, Macys, etc. or through the lancome.com website. It retails for $22.00, which seems a bit pricey for a lipstick that did not meet my expectations. However, I will continue to try other Lancome lipsticks, because they do have some very good quality products.
I found rthat Laqncome has a very uneven history in its cosmetic line. This lipstick sounds as if it is one of their not so great offerings. I tend to stick with their tried and true offerings, like their Bienfait Du Matin or their mascaras.
Great review, although I won't be buying it anytime soon since most department store make-up is overpriced.
