Land's End Women's Faux Shearling Coat

Unlike most women, I generally don't like to shop. Going to the mall is something I do once or twice a year and only if necessary. Thankfully, with online shopping, I can shop from the comfort of my home.

As a Land's End customer for many years, I have come to expect excellent quality in everything they sell. I have yet to be disappointed. This coat is no exception.

I first saw this coat in a sale catalog and the picture immediately grabbed my attention. I love this style, but the price was so low that I was skeptical of the quality. I went online and looked at it closer and liked it even better. I decided to take a chance on it.

When the coat arrived, I was extremely pleased with how it looked. It was even prettier than it looked online. I was hesitant to try it on, fearing I might have chosen the wrong size, but it fit perfectly.

The color is dark forest green. On the outside, the coat is very soft and if I didn't know better, I'd think it was genuine shearling. Inside, is a thick, warm lining. The cuffs roll up more if necessary and the attractive pile lining is still visible. There are two deep pockets and four large buttons down the front. An extra button is included if needed.

When I tried on the coat, I was impressed with how very soft it was and also how comfortable it was to move in. The fit is slightly tapered, giving it a flattering female fit without being snug.

Staying warm should not be hard as this coat has a temperature rating of 10/-5, depending on what is worn underneath. Since I recently bought it, I have not had a chance to wear it in the cold and to see how warm it really is, but from the feel of it and my experiences with other Land's End products, I have no doubt it will live up to its claims.

This is one of my best clothing purchases ever. It's very attractive, well made and the price was unbelievable. Even better, this coat is machine washable! They recommend washing it one time before wearing. I have done that and it came out looking fantastic with no shrinkage. I now wish I'd ordered a second one in a different color.

Update On Nov 14, 2009: Another update... the coat is also available in medium (regular), but not petite sizes. I ordered a second one in another color. I love this coat and the price is fantastic!
