Language 3: 3rd Grade Homeschool Curriculum By Alicia Bodine on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I just started Language 3 from A Beka Books with my daughter. She attended a Christian school the first half of the year, but I am back to home schooling her now. I choose this book verse the English book because it has a little less writing and more focus on learning the skills you need to write. It also focuses on Grammer and Dictionary skills. Once she masters these I would feel better about using the English version for this grade.

The one thing about this book is it's length. I only have half a year left to teach her and there is no reason why we can't finish the whole book in half a years time. So if you are going to use this curriculum you may want to make up some supplemental material to make it last longer. Or you can always have your child work on writing book reports or have them journal. Then go over any grammar you think needs to be changed and show your child where they can use the dictionary to check spelling.

I like the book, but I can't give it a 5 when it really can be done in half a year.
