Laptop Cooling Fan

A while back I bought this Targus laptop cooling fan for my husband because he was stuck home in bed recovering from surgery and he was using the laptop pretty much all the time and it would seem to get extremely hot underneath where he had it resting on his lap.
When I first got it home, it seemed very cheap and flimsy and it's light as a feather.Once we got it plugged in though, it worked great.It helps prevent the laptop overheating by using a two-fan cooling system that pulls heat away from the laptop and keeps the CPU from getting too hot.You power it by pluging the provided USB cord into your computer and then turn the fans on with the on/off switch.
The only complaint my husband had was that it didn't feel very secure under the laptop.He said he felt as if the laptop was going to slip off the cooling fan at any time.
I use my laptop alot and I have been considering buying a cooling pad for it. I didn't realize they used a USB for power though.
I have one of these for my laptop too. I feel like it is going to slide off at any minute. I think if you are using this on a table, it seems a little bit more sturdy.
I have never heard of this, but for the price it might be worth a try for my son. He complains about his laptop heating up all the time. Thanks
I really needed one of these for my laptop when I was at school. I can't tell you how many times it overheated on me. :o) Sorry to hear about the slipping feeling though, but at least it cooled your hubby's laptop down!
Why don't they make simple velcro or other type of attachments for these cooling mats so they they stay in place? If I need to worry about slipping, guess what? It gets tossed out.
I didn't even know these existed...our laptop heats up my lap too.
