Last Exile An Anime Masterpiece By Seraph on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

One of Studio GONZO's masterpieces, Last Exile is a must-see for anime fans and for those who are new to the anime genre as well. One of Japan's top anime studios, GONZO produces this spetacular anime that has garnered fans of all ages.

A slightly retro, yet futuristic action/adventure anime, Last Exile portrays the lives of Claus and Lavie, two vanship pilots. During an aerial race, Claus and Lavie find another pilot in trouble and stop to help him. Little do they know that with one kind gesture, they will be thrown into the midst of a war between two countries. Soon, they draw the eye of the mysterious Guild faction, who seems determined to capture the two.

The battles are simply fantastic, they will blow you away with the detail and the sheer reality. From the very first episode's battle, to the final confrontation -- the CG and artwork never misses a step.

The audio is masterfully done as well -- whether you choose the Japanese or English sound, you will swear bullets are whizzing about your head.

The DVDs retail singly from around $20-30 apiece, but you can purchase one of the two box sets if you prefer. The first box set is a silver box that contains a figurine, a mousepad, and limited edition inserts -- which retails from about $150-$200. The second set is a thin pack set which is much cheaper, but none of the goodies. It usually can be found around $50-$75, depending onwhere you shop.
