Reviewing: Laura Ashley Down Alternative Comforter
Purchased at: Ross     Price: $19.99 USD

When my husbands dad passed away recently, Mom got to have the wonderful new bed we had just bought him to use in the assisted living facility we had to move him to. So when she got the new bed, we took her old one for our spare room, so now we have a guest room. (That is a first for us!).

Yesterday, we had new windows put in Moms whole house, which meant she needed somewhere else to stay while there would be no heat in the house. Well, we have a guest room now, so she stayed here. But I had to hustle out to get some bedding for the bed before she came to spend the night.

Whenever I need to buy blankets, pillows, or towels, I head to Ross. The prices just cant be beat unless you go to a thrift store. You do need patience, though, because people really make a mess in the Ross stores! There will be blankets and pillows all over the floors in the aisles. Good thing they are packaged!

I was looking for something plain that would not compete with the bright, patterned curtains I made for that room (my sewing room). It took awhile, but I finally settled on this pale blue, down alternative comforter. The bed is queen sized, but I bought a king size comforter so that it could drape over the edges and act as a bedspread. I like the way it turned out, and Mom said it was nice and warm. I need to find a couple of shams to dress it up a little, but all in all, for twenty dollars, I think I got my moneys worth!
