Leap Frog Fridge Farm Magnetic Set
By Tina Lehman onI bought the Leap Frog Fridge Farm Magnetic set to keep my daughter busy while I was in the kitchen. The set comes with a magnetic reader and ten magnetic animal halves which fit in the reader. When an animal is placed in the reader, it says "purple cow" or "yellow duck" (or whatever animal is placed there). When the rear and head halves of the animals match, the unit cheers. When they are mismatched, the unit invents a silly name for the creature they've created.
It has a Spanish option, so occasionally instead of "yellow duck" you'll hear "pato amarillo."
I like the idea of the fridge farm, but mine has never worked properly, so I have rated it low on durability. It is also difficult for younger children to know the rear of the animal goes on the right, and the head goes on the left.
I also have the Leap Frog Magnetic Alphabet set, and recommend like it a bit better than the farm set.

Too bad it doesn't seem to work right. I like the idea a lot. I'm a sucker for farm toys.
I really like the idea, it sounds like a lot of fun for younger children. It would have been perfect if it worked well.
We have this toy for the fridge and love it!
Cute idea! Too bad it does not work properly for you.
This sounds like a lot of fun for the little ones, for sure! Not so little that they'd try to eat them, but little enough to enjoy playing with them. Cool!
We have all seen these, and i have had no problems when the little ones played with it.
We bouight this for our boys when young and they loved the set. They had no difficulty quickly learning how to match head to body in the right placement, and really enjoyed the sounds. Leapfrog generally makes excellent toys for children of all abilities.
