Learning About Cassatt

Quiet Time With Cassatt is part of a series of board books that wonderfully bring the world of art to children. These are exceptional books, and I highly recommend them.
Mary Cassatt is an artist who did a lot of work involving children and mothers and children. These are some really beautiful, emotional paintings. They are also perfect for a board book because children are really drawn to these paintings. Perhaps it's the sweetness and simplicity, or perhaps they just like to look at other children. Either way, the paintings seem to speak to my daughter.
Like the other books in this series, this book has some words to go along with the picture. The words bring out the picture to the reader (and the listener) but don't overwhelm the paintings or do anything to change the viewer's vision of the paintings.
These are beautiful books and would make a wonderful, educational addition to any child;s book collection.
I took art history in college and never came across this name.. interesting. Might check it out.
